Nonna Bionda, which in Italian means blonde grandma, comes from my real granny’s nickname, whose voluminous platinum blonde hair recalls the color of her fried pizzas. Every Sunday, she makes those pizzas for 22 grandchildren with unconditional love.
My Nonna Bionda had a very secret recipe of this pizza – since 1935, when her mom sold fried pizzas in the street markets of Naples.
The markets ceased to exist during the Second World War, but the fried pizza recipe is still a family secret that, until today, has been handed down to each generation who jealously treasures it!
We proudly bring to life the historical project to continue our family tradition, and let the world enjoy her precious recipe and, above all, to let the world know the story of my beloved Blonde Granny.
